Let me first take this opportunity to thank you for your support to China's diplomatic work. As always, I look forward to your insights and suggestions.

　　2020年是人類歷史進程中具有分水嶺意義的一年。突如其來的疫情引發(fā)全球性危機，各國人員往來按下了“暫停鍵”，世界經(jīng)濟增長掛上了“倒車擋”，強權(quán)政治、冷戰(zhàn)思維沉渣泛起，單邊主義、保護主義逆流橫行，人類發(fā)展面臨空前風(fēng)險挑戰(zhàn)，國際形勢進入動蕩變革期。同時，國際格局的演進正在提速換擋，新一輪科技革命和產(chǎn)業(yè)變革蓄勢待發(fā)，人類社會對健康安全、和平發(fā)展、合作共贏、命運與共的認(rèn)知更加深刻。世界回不到過去，人們在求索未來。各國都要做出團結(jié)還是分裂、開放還是封閉、合作還是對抗的重要抉擇。

The year 2020 is a watershed in human history. The sudden onslaught of COVID-19 has triggered a global crisis, putting a halt to cross-border travels and shifting global growth into reverse gear. Anachronistic practices of unilateralism and protectionism have been on the increase, driven by resurgent power politics and Cold-War mentality. Human development is confronted with unprecedented risks and challenges in an increasingly fluid and changing world.

At the same time, the evolution of the international order is speeding up. A new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation is gathering momentum. Humankind as a whole has gained a more profound appreciation of the need for health and safety, peace and development, win-win cooperation and for embracing a shared future. The world will never go back to where it was; humanity is pondering on and exploring the future. All countries must make the consequential choice between solidarity and division, between openness and isolation, and between cooperation and confrontation.

　　2020年是國家發(fā)展進程中具有里程碑意義的一年。面對來勢洶洶的疫情沖擊和日趨復(fù)雜的外部環(huán)境，在以習(xí)近平同志為核心的黨中央堅強領(lǐng)導(dǎo)下，中國人民萬眾一心，眾志成城，率先控制疫情，率先開展抗疫合作，率先復(fù)工復(fù)產(chǎn)，率先恢復(fù)經(jīng)濟增長。脫貧攻堅歷史使命將如期完成，決勝全面建成小康社會取得決定性成就，實現(xiàn)第一個百年奮斗目標(biāo)勝利在望。黨的十九屆五中全會勝利召開，擘畫了未來五年乃至更長一個時期國家發(fā)展的宏偉藍(lán)圖，開啟了全面建設(shè)社會主義現(xiàn)代化國家新征程，為戰(zhàn)勝前進道路上的艱難險阻提供了強大動力，為實現(xiàn)中華民族偉大復(fù)興錨定了前進方向。

The year 2020 is a milestone in China's national development. Facing the devastating impact of COVID-19 and an increasingly complex international environment, under the strong leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core, the entire nation has rallied together behind a common purpose. China was among the first to contain the virus, to carry out international cooperation against COVID-19, to reopen the economy safely, and to restore economic growth.

The country is on course to fulfill the historic mission of ending extreme poverty within the set time frame, secure decisive achievements in finishing the building of a moderately prosperous society, and realize the first centenary goal.

The successful Fifth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee set out a great vision for China's development in the coming five years and beyond. It marked the beginning of a new journey toward fully building a modern socialist country, provided strong impetus to overcome challenges on the way forward, and charted the course toward the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

　　2020年也是中國外交征程中具有開創(chuàng)性意義的一年。習(xí)近平主席以大國領(lǐng)袖的全球視野和使命擔(dān)當(dāng)，密集開展元首外交。包括以“云外交”的創(chuàng)新方式，同外國領(lǐng)導(dǎo)人及國際組織負(fù)責(zé)人會晤、通話84次，出席重要外交活動22場，為全球抗疫凝聚共識，為中國外交指引方向。外交戰(zhàn)線以元首外交為引領(lǐng)，以團結(jié)抗疫為主線，迎難而上，主動應(yīng)變，為國家擔(dān)當(dāng)，對世界盡責(zé)，同步抗擊新冠肺炎病毒和國際政治病毒，為捍衛(wèi)國家利益、維護全球穩(wěn)定作出新的貢獻。主要體現(xiàn)在八個方面：

The year 2020 is a groundbreaking one for China's external relations. With a global vision and strong sense of responsibility as leader of a major country, President Xi Jinping has engaged in intensive head of state diplomacy. He held 84 meetings and phone calls with foreign leaders and heads of international organizations, and attended 22 important diplomatic events, including "cloud diplomacy" through the innovative virtual platform. This has helped build global consensus on COVID-19 and point the way forward for China's foreign policy.

Guided by the President's diplomatic engagements and focusing on joint response to COVID-19, we in the diplomatic service have forged ahead to meet the challenges head on. We have taken proactive steps to stay ahead of the changing circumstances, in an effort to serve the country and contribute to the world. We have fought the novel coronavirus and the "political virus" at the same time and made new contributions to safeguarding national interests and global stability. Our efforts and achievements are reflected in the following eight areas:

First, we have carried out robust international cooperation against COVID-19.

　　一年來，中國外交積極投身國內(nèi)和全球抗疫，以實際行動踐行人類命運共同體理念，展現(xiàn)了負(fù)責(zé)任的大國擔(dān)當(dāng)。

Over the past year, we in the diplomatic service have actively contributed to the fight against COVID-19 both in China and globally, promoting the building of a community with a shared future for mankind with concrete actions as a major, responsible country.

　　我們?nèi)⑴c國內(nèi)疫情防控。疫情初期，我們在全球范圍協(xié)助籌集醫(yī)療物資，以解國內(nèi)抗疫斗爭之急。面對疫情在全球蔓延，我們與海內(nèi)外同胞齊心協(xié)力，嚴(yán)守疫情防控“國門關(guān)”，盡力維護國內(nèi)來之不易的抗疫成果。復(fù)工復(fù)產(chǎn)啟動以來，我們創(chuàng)造性地設(shè)立中外人員往來“快捷通道”、物資運輸“綠色通道”，保障產(chǎn)業(yè)鏈供應(yīng)鏈穩(wěn)定暢通，助力國內(nèi)經(jīng)濟社會的恢復(fù)發(fā)展。

Domestically, we have fully engaged in COVID-19 containment. In the early days of the epidemic, we helped secure lifesaving medical supplies globally to address the pressing need back home.

With infections rising globally, we worked with fellow Chinese home and abroad to build a strong line of defense at our borders and preserve the hard-won gains in containing COVID-19 at home.

As the economy gradually reopened, we took innovative approaches to establish "fast tracks" and "green lanes" for the flows of people and goods, which has helped to keep industrial and supply chains stable and open and bolster domestic economic recovery and social development.

　　我們積極推動國際抗疫合作。中國從一開始就本著公開、透明、科學(xué)、負(fù)責(zé)的態(tài)度，同世衛(wèi)組織和國際社會攜手抗擊疫情。我們最早向世界報告疫情，第一時間發(fā)布病毒基因序列等關(guān)鍵信息，堅定支持世衛(wèi)組織發(fā)揮領(lǐng)導(dǎo)作用，向世衛(wèi)組織和聯(lián)合國全球人道主義應(yīng)對計劃提供資金援助。我們組織上百場跨國視頻專家會議，毫無保留地與各國分享抗疫經(jīng)驗。開設(shè)向所有國家開放的新冠疫情防控網(wǎng)上知識中心，迄今已向全球公開發(fā)布8版診療方案、7版防控方案。我們發(fā)起新中國成立以來規(guī)模最大的全球人道主義行動，向150多個國家和9個國際組織提供抗疫援助，為有需要的34個國家派出36支醫(yī)療專家組。我們發(fā)揮最大醫(yī)療物資產(chǎn)能國優(yōu)勢，迄今已向各國提供了2000多億只口罩、20億件防護服、8億份檢測試劑盒。我們積極推進藥物、疫苗研發(fā)合作和國際聯(lián)防聯(lián)控，加強全球公共衛(wèi)生治理，推動構(gòu)建人類衛(wèi)生健康共同體。

Internationally, we have actively promoted anti-COVID-19 cooperation. Since the very beginning, China has worked with the World Health Organization (WHO) and the international community in an open, transparent, science-based and responsible manner. Being the first to report cases to the world, China has since then publicized key information including the genome sequencing at the first opportunity, firmly supported the leading role of WHO, and provided funding to WHO and the UN COVID-19 Global Humanitarian Response Plan.

We have organized over 100 expert video meetings to share experience with other countries without reservation. Through opening an online Knowledge Center for China's Experiences in Response to COVID-19 which is accessible to all countries, we have published eight versions of diagnosis and therapeutic solutions and seven versions of prevention and control protocols.

We have launched the largest global humanitarian campaign since the founding of New China. We have provided assistance to over 150 countries and nine international organizations and sent 36 medical teams to 34 countries in need.

Leveraging our strength as the largest manufacturer of medical supplies, we have provided countries around the world with over 200 billion masks, 2 billion protective suits and 800 million testing kits.

We have also actively advanced collaboration on the R&D of drugs and vaccines, promoted joint prevention and control with other countries and called for the enhancement of global public health governance, with a view to jointly building a global community of health for all.
